The 3D Media Studio is a collaborative partnership between Temasek Polytechnic and IM Innovations established in 2005 with the following key objectives:
- To be the premier competency centre with the facility and expertise to pilot new and innovative solutions relating to 3D visualisation technologies in the ASEAN region.
- To offer 3D software training and consulting services to industry professionals, educationists and students
MAXON Computer GmbH and IM Innovations, provided 25 educational licences of CINEMA 4D Studio Bundle to the 3D Media Studio when it is appointed as the only ASEAN Authorised Training Centre (ATC) for CINEMA 4D and BodyPaint 3D. AMD also sponsored 21 units of high-end graphics workstations via IM Innovations in recognition of the importance of 3D visualisation for engineering, scientific, creative as well as educational industries.
One of the first 3D pioneering initiative for the Studio is the Virtual Paper Napkin (VPN) project, an IDA supported project awarded to IM Innovations. Together with key strategic partner, Temasek Polytechnic, we rolled out an outreach programme to ignite students' interest in 3D applications. It includes training primary and secondary students, as well as teachers using an easy to use and learn 3D modeling and animation software called CINEMA 4D. VPN is set to revolutionize future teaching and learning in classroom by helping students to understand complex concepts easily using 3D virtual space and applications.
With the success of the 3D Media Studio in promoting the pervasive use of 3D visualisation and digital media solutions and services, Interactive Digital Centre Asia was established on 1st November 2007. This development represented an expansion of our original partnership. 3D Media Studio is now part of this larger set-up.
